As a slight departure from our blogging about the “WOW” (Wheel of Wellbeing), I would like to announce some exciting news!
After taking an interest in the field several years ago, voraciously reading and watching whatever I could find in the field of integrative practice for mental health, I bit the bullet. This past year I have had the honor of studying Dr. Leslie Korn’s course, “Nutritional and Integrative Nutrition for Mental Health Professionals.” Her vast knowledge and forward-thinking approach have truly inspired me. Dr. James Lake, M.D. of the American Psychiatric Association Caucus on Complementary and Integrative Medicine says about her:
She is an expert in healing in indigenous cultures and is the founding director of the Center for World Indigenous Studies. I have had the opportunity to consult with her in person and her brilliance and true, caring nature are evident.
Last week I graduated from her course and received my certification – CIMHP. I am now a “Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional.” Although I have taken individual courses in many of the areas in this field, (at Harvard and other institutions of higher learning) I finally have a more rounded education in this exciting field which expands my work. I am very much looking forward to participating in Dr. Korn’s ongoing supervision and live case consultation calls. I feel blessed to be able to solidify all the work I have been doing in the past several years (much of it we have been discussing in the past several installments regarding the “WOW.”)
I look forward to sharing much more in the upcoming articles. Additionally, I hope to be offering live webinars to my audience in our eight areas of lifestyle wellness. Some of Dr. Korn’s books are here for your interest. Click on the graphic above with her book titles.
